Beautiful! Did you get any shots of the aurora?
Beautiful photo of the Mid-Autumn moon!!
I saw this while on the road and thought about taking a picture, but knew I’d never do it justice and didn’t bother. So glad to see that you could, and did!
Wow! This is simply stunning!
Amazing shot, love the detail!
Autumn/fall is all there in that wonderful warm colour
Amazing. Every time I look at the moon, it inspires me. It makes my imagination run wild with possibilities, opportunities, and visions of the future.
Like Michelangelo’s audition circle, perfect!
Amazing! I love it!!
It’s like a mini-world.
I love moon shots, very hypnotising.
And yours really shows the cavities and rough texture of it on the right side – stupendous capture!
The navel at the bottom and the color in your photo, makes me think of it as an orange now.
How timely your post is – for the mooncake festival where the chinese celebrate it on the full moon yesterday – and folks who are hopeful for love throw oranges into the water that shows the reflection of the moon.
Absolutely beautiful photo
That’s a wonderful; shot. I’m a moon-watcher too, and saw it come up over the sea last night. But I couldn;t see all the rough bits you show us!
Lovely one, thank you
Awesome moon shot Patrick! I love a full moon. To me the sun and the moon are Universal symbols of the vast and infinite potential and possibility available to all of us!
Wow it’s awesome see it haha~I’m just wondering what camera do you take for shooting usually?
O(∩_∩)O wish you the best and I like your pictures!!!Good Job!!!

I love moon shots. I managed to get some great shots of this years Super Moon and the Luna Eclipse.
Really enjoying your blog! Glad to have found it and beautiful photography!
The golden full-moon of mid-autumn! Ay, what I would do to enjoy the view while eating some moon-cake and sipping on hot Chrysanthemum Tea!
Love it! Absolutely stunning.
No matter how many times we see it, the moon remains fascinating. Beautiful picture.
my daughter so happy said : mama full moon ..great one!
Wow! The details of the moon’s surface are amazing! Just this morning (very early this morning, like 3:30) I was standing outside looking at the moon through the birch trees and wishing I had the skill to capture it in a photo.
Oh, wow! Spectacular Moon shot
I was so bummed out when last night’s Moon was all pretty over at this side of the Globe as well and I didn’t have my camera (even if it’s not as great as your camera)
Love that you captured the rough texture (actually surface) of the moon. Love a full moon!
I thought of Neil Young straight away when I saw this : ) Great photo.
I’m sure you hear this a lot, but wow! You’re pictures are amazing, the places hardly look real they’re so beautiful!! I can just imagine being there from looking at them breath taking!
Your* Damn, hate grammatical errors!
I think, of all the art forms, I prefer photography to most. When I see your work, it is like taking in a deep, refreshing breath from high atop of one of those mountains you capture with your camera. I use my little Kodak to illustrate my posts and am truly humbled with great talent like yours. Thanks for sharing!
Patrick, your collection “are collectables”. Great work.
Beautiful photography Patrick ! The best part of your blog is the way you have explained your shots. May be I can learn some good photography from you. Thanks for following my blog. Best wishes… HS
Thanks for the shot! From where we were camped there was not a chance in hell of seeing it
Great shot, so well done.
Very beautiful! We have a moon similar to that over here! hehe!
Beautiful! It is so hard to get a good shot of the moon, but you succeeded!
Beautiful Patrick. Tonight is the official Harvest Moon viewing here in Texas. I will probably not try to photograph it but just enjoy it. Thank you for stopping by my blog. I appreciate that such a talented photographer enjoys some of my photos. Have fun!
Stunning. How big would this print be if purchased?
wOW . . .i CAN HOWL AT THAT ALL NIGHT.
That is just too darn cool… *nods*

Beautiful! I must have this above my bed in my new house.

I was so impressed with a few pics I took with my iphone of the moonrise a few days ago at the beach….they don’t quite compare lol
“Come a little bit closer/ Here what I have to say/ Just like children sleeping/ We could dream this night away” (NEIL YOUNG, Harvest Moon)
Gorgeously textured shot!
Isn’t it amazing that we live under that moon!
I love the amount of detail you can see and then it’s surrounded by darkness. Very nice
LOVE THIS! I totally need to invest in a new lens!
Absolutely gorgeous shot Patrick.
apropos of the moment
i am bloody useless at night photography, probably due to my inherent laziness re: the tripod so more than happy to goggle at your gorgeous image of what hung above our prairies and our harvest last night!! c
Understated but really awesome photo.
Happy Moon festival! Moon festival is one of my favourite Chinese holiday. The full moon means family reunion. Your pictures can make the beautiful moment stay . Amazing picture!
What a magical shot…. It’s beautiful. 😀
The usual high quality work in Zen-inducing photography you do, Patrick. It also reminded me how much I like Bedlam’s rendition of the homonym song. Goodday mate!
So very beautiful!
Fantastic clarity and detail. Nice job!
Very beautiful, it has perfect framing-captures the mysterious moon perfectly.
I new I could find it here Great capture Pat!
dang it looks like the harvest was a success, not a bit of green in the whole shootin’ match.
Wow!! splendid:-) awesome detail!! just love it;-)

Some serious shots are here. I love your warm moon so sharp and chrispy. Admired your hikings really. My daughter wants to visit Canada, I know why she wants to now more. May I ask you something? I want to buy a serious winter tent and sleeping bag. Which brand would you recommend me please? Thank you also dropping by to my pages. Nice to know your pages. I will show to my daughter to get an idea where she wants to travel. Enjoy your week cheers
Wow, that’s one of the most beautiful photos I’ve ever seen! The moon looks so clear and full and alive – you could almost believe it were a living space-orb like our own Earth, and not merely her barren younger sister… Just stunning.
The moon and even the stars here are bright orange–but only when we can see them through the wildfire smoke.
Such a beautiful photo. I have a real fascination with the moon. Thank you!
What an incredible picture!!! I was born under a full moon in November. I have had a really strong connection to the moon my whole life. This is simply a shot beyond words to me! Thank you!

It’s hard to put into words how lovely your photos are – it feels inadequate to just say they’re beautiful (but they are!).
That is amazing!! I saw the Harvest Moon and took a picture of it in the Boston skyline.. It was no where near as beautiful as this!
Thanks for sharing this image, Patrick, and for your kind comment on my blog! Everything on my blog lifestylejournalist.wordpress.com is man-made and indoors — you record the complete opposite…and it is beautiful.
It’s a great shot! I was so excited about the harvest moon this year, then a typhoon came in the night of the full moon. Not much to see that night.
Glad to see the moon in your photo.

WOW! Super glad to discover your blog! Thanks for dropping by! I also read your Ha Ling Peak post (since it sounded like a Cantonese name and I hail from Hong Kong) but I guess it wasn’t a hike in Asia. Still really cool though. In a couple weeks, I will posting about a (far more amateur) hike I overtook in Northern Norway- have you ever been there by any chance?
