Maui II
Background
I took this on the stretch of highway that continues on past Hana and found this to be one of the most underrated parts of the island. The road was not nearly as busy as the road to Hana and the vast fields are mostly untouched other than some small ranches.
Another shot from one of the beaches that dot the coast of Wailea.

Fabulous!
mmmmmmmmmmmmm….cold here. lucky you.
This is absolutely beautiful!
I can’t really tell, but is that a cattle guard on the near side of the bridge road?here is so much climate variety. Amazing. Is everyone in Hawaii car dependent, as most of us are on the mainland?
edit: … road? There is….
Beautiful! I wonder how many people go on past Hana. Haven’t been to Maui in a long time….I think we’re going to have to pay a visit soon!
wow, your sea is whole lot calmer than ours today.. c
Love the light…
I’ve been on that road! It is so untouched and beautiful. Mauai has such a diverse landscape, one of my favorite places!
must be the best day ever walking through that roadway,..NICE!
beautiful pictures
I was on that stretch of road several years ago. Your photos very much capture the ambiance.
Wow these are incredible. I wish I could have the opportunity to capture such nature
I just love the colour of that green in the sun in the first shot. Gorgeous!
Love!
I remember doing this road when we visited Maui in 1997. I thought that the road had been destroyed by some natural event so I am glad to see that it is still there as I do remember the scenery to be absolutely spectacular. Great pictures as always.
Use to live on Maui……recognize all the places….so nice to get the feel of the island again through your lovely photos…….Hawaii……yumm……in peace……kai
I have driven that stretch of road – it is truly stunning.
Patrick: Beautiful Images, You did some work here, I see.
Wow.
like, like!
Thanks for bringing places to my screen.
Breathtaking!
We love that area in Maui, but have never driven all the way around the Road to Hana. Nice shots.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Fantastic!
Love Hawaii!
Dude, you have an amazing gift in photography. Never quit =]

Very nice, Patrick! All your work is fabulous!
Just love that place…beautiful pics
I am falling in love with Maui all over again.
I think I’ve been on that same road.. Thanks for sharing this beautiful picture, it makes me want to go back immediately
What a great stretch of highway and road. There’s something great about viewing the terrain in your photograph. I can feel the barren earth on my feet and smell the ocean air, perhaps it not far away.
That doesn’t look like Canada! Always great photos… when hiking in Canada or elsewhere.
The road to Hana. How beautiful is THAT?
I’d love to visit. Heaven on earth, I’ve been told.
Beautiful photos!
Beautiful! you get to travel and take these shots?
I love it when you post, Patrick. Thank you for all the beauty you bring to my inbox!
I have been to HI about 30 times, but have not seen anyone capture the beauty of the interchange between the light and the land the way you have. You nailed it!

I particularly like the shot from one of the beaches. Brilliant photography!
Beautiful place!
That bridge and road shot – is amazing … excellent. It has such depth.
A beautiful beach … is a very easy object …. That road and bridge – that’s talent.
Beautiful beach and terrific light and shadow in the Hana highway.
Beautiful!
beautiful as always
Very nice!
I’m from Maui! Going back for Christmas! Glad you had a chance to experience it. Great pictures as usual!!
Wow, your photographs are amazing! totally awed
Gorgeous. Also, I know this is random, but for some reason when I quickly glanced at the first picture, it reminded me of the Great Wall of China.
awesome!

Looks like lovely country. Reminds me a little of the south of England (the unspoiled bits, that is).
I am constantly inspired by your photographs. I hope your trip is going as magnificently as it seems!
Nice photo. We used to take that road with a rental Jeep 20 years ago when it was mostly dirt. Nice to see it’s still in such lovely countryside. I agree, much underrated – but that makes it a great place to get away from the resort-y parts of Maui!
Your pictures make me want to be on vacation again and I just got back. I beachy types of places.
Beautiful pictures.

Not too many places like this left – land this is almost untouched. Wish I was there, but at least I can travel through your amazing photos!
