NYC 2012/2013 NYE
Background
These are a collection of photos from my recent trip to New York. The only photo that really requires an explanation is probably the man on the tracks. We were waiting for a train at the 34th street station, when this man crawled from underneath the train on the opposing track and came across to our side. The police quickly arrived and took him away. This was December 28th, 2012, does anyone have any more information on what happened that day?

Love the motion in the Penn Station shot!
Great photos as always, the young lady is so beautiful. Love the shot of the huge legs and feet behind. That fella on the track must be a fugitive from something naughty…
Nice to see such life in your images. I have a special fondness for the black and white ones.
Take care,
Tom

Lovely shots – full of interest
Great photos as usual.
These are really fun shots! Congrats.
New York, the city that never sleeps Thank you for taking me there
The bridge is spectacular. Beautiful work.
New York, New York! The city so nice they named it twice! Great captures! I miss the Big Apple!
Very nice series, Patrick!
Patrick great photos! How do you get the effect on the Grand Central photo?
I love your work. If I had a home and wasn’t such a vagabond I’d order some prints. Have a prosperous 2013.
Nice. Very, very nice. Especially the one with you in front of the moving train.
Truly incredible photography, love your work
Truly incredible photography, I love your work
Amazing photographs, as usual!
You always have such great shots.
I love these!!! Very cool! Also the moonlight skiing how wonderful
Hi Patrick – I’ve been waiting to see your New Year’s Eve pics – expected to see something from the Times Square fiesta… but loving your pics of typical NYC life. Especially like the Grand Central terminal. As always, great shots! So, how was your NYC experience?
Unconsciously, I felt so touched when I looked at these pictures. Just AMAZING!!!! :3
Reblogged this on Simon Sundaraj-Keun.
It looks like you had a great trip! I live close to Manhattan so go in often. Weird that a guy would be on the tracks–its so dangerous. You might like my IMovie titled “NY State of Mind” under my For Reel category (a bunch of my photos of NYC set to music) http://bmoreenergy.wordpress.com
Superb series of images, really summing up (part of) an evening. The portraits are stunning!
Great photos.
Nice shots.
Adored the one of you in front of the legs … the train station..the last shot… ok hell as usual they were all magnificent.
Wonderful shots – looks reeeeeally cold
Patrick – Great captures of The City. HNY to you, too.
These are some awesome photos. I really like the first one and the train station. Again in the train station photo, those people who are blurred, how did you manage that. I don’t think I’ve seen that effect before.
Amazing stuff and looking forward to your next post.
Great shots …. you really found your NYC!!! There is nothing mention is the underground news about the incident you witness, so it can be anything too serious. My pick is the photo in the snow – recall that too well from my winter months in NYC.
I especially like the bridge – great light!
Reblogged this on bearspawprint.
A contrasting environment from your other pics Patrick – the bridge image is wonderful but NY always seems to look right in black and white. You also look like the healthiest people there. Not that I’ve been to NY …. or the US … or Canada … or the Americas generally …. Keep posting and I’ll hopefully get to see some of it someday -
Absolutely spectacular!
I must say, I love the way you capture life with your art. It’s fabulous to see.
My geez, you capture life itself.
that is all
Superb photos – are they doing works on Brooklyn Bridge? I don’t remember than fence on the sides of the path, but then it has been 9 years since I’ve been.
Absolutely excellent photos!
Your photos are amazing. You give me something to aspire to. You have a great eye and your composition is phenomenal. Thank you for sharing
.
Fantastic! Love the Brooklyn bridge and the silhouette in front of the huge photograph… and the street vendors! All are lovely. Hope you will share more of the NYC shoot.
These are great shots!! I especially like your perspective!
Change of pace from your usual, but I love the photos.
You are truly, most talented. Keep up the good work.
GREAT photos!!
Beautiful pictures!
Simply amazing! Thank you for sharing your trip and experiences! I could almost hear the city and laughter of friends, smell the yummy foods, and feel the crisp air and warm sun.
Super duper!
I didn’t hear anything on the news about it but, I’m from NYC and i see that happen all the time. Especially at stations like 34th street. Some people simply jump into the tracks to cross over to the other side, the side they need because they don’t want to go down, around and up to the other side. Some stations don’t have a cross over to the other side too so I’ve seen people just jump into the tracks and walk across.
Love the photos, especially the B&W. Street vendor really captures a great vibe. Hope you enjoyed your trip.
Terrific set of shots! I love the silhouetted man standing in front of the image of legs and feet, it’s really eye-catching. Re: the guy crossing the tracks, probably just another day in the city
sweet work man!
I really liked the one of the Brooklyn Bridge!
I have the urge to try to paint a portrait from your photograph of the lovely young woman–the one identified as “17c0382″. Would you give me permission to do so?

You sure make us look good, Patrick!
These photos are beyond beautiful! Great work
Rach
Really like the bridge shot. Cool lines and perspective. Appreciate your work!
You have an amazing talent! I’m always awed by your photos!
Reblogged this on Ecodelphinus.com.
Another excellent set. I like the B&W images the most, especially the food vendor cart. Hope you had a Chili Dog.
The guy from under the train – probably a homeless guy. A lot of homeless people live in the subway tunnels.
Wow! You really captured the heart of the city. (But of course!).
You’ve got a great eye when picking the subject of a picture and making it really BE. Thanks, as always for sharing your incredible talent.
Love the vanishing point images… as always great work!
As for the guys crossing… I’m just glad there was no crazy outcome after as I haven’t heard anything on that day!
I love that place!! My second home!
I love the one of the concourse at Grand Central Station, with the “moving” figures. Beautiful effect!
A great collection! I love the black and whites, but the color shots are just as awesome.
I love the one at the Train Station with the long exposure – it beautifully captures the motion. I also like the last one of the street vendor.
I enjoyed the trip with you. We must go again some time.
beauty.

I love the soft light from the candle on the beautiful girls gentle face

Great shots of my hometown! I didn’t get a chance to suggest the Brooklyn Bridge, but looks like you you did it on your own! Awesome stuff!
I’ve never been to New York City. Thanks for taking me along with your pictures. They are outstanding.

Betsy
Love the silhouette shot. Very nice.
Spectacular photos!
Great pics,
New York on new years eve, its been a long time (I was 6) since I was there for that but brings back memories:)
Maybe its time to re-visit the east coast.
I cannot imagine that 869 bloggers clicked the like button but no one else thought to leave a comment!
I love your photos and that you’ve included some black and white shots. The bottom photo is my favorite.
Wow. Love your work. This is one of those blogs I’ll be following as a feast for my eyes…
I love your Photos <3

Although I like all of the photos that you post, I love the black and white ones. For me there is something special about black and white photos; it seems that they speak louder…
Wonderful photos – I knew you could do New York justice. Although I live just about as far from New York as possible in the U.S., I can never get enough views of it. Thanks for posting.
I’ve definitely stepped into New York. Fantastic photos!
Love NYC and your pictures. I have no information on what happened that day.
Absolutely love the picture of Grand Central Station!
Great B&W
that shot of Grand Central Station really captures the ephemeral character of the space. It’s one of my favourite places in New York to just stand and observe the moving crowd
Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I love your blog, and I am giving you an award. Please check it out here: http://vandachittenden.wordpress.com/2013/01/14/award-the-versatile-blogger/

That first image in the snow is beyong beautiful
New York offers a personalized side for each one, it’s magic. Nice shots
I want your magic camera and your talent.
The first and fourth one are absolutely stunning!
I LOVE your photos!
In top form as always.
Pretty girls, Brooklyn Bridge; Pretty girls, Brooklyn Bridge; Pretty girls, Brooklyn Bridge… it’s a toss-up
Beautiful!! Love the colours in the sky on the bridge image! x
Love that first shoot!
Shot*
Though you are a talented landscape guy, I really love the portraits in this post!
absolutely wonderful series, my 2 favourite types of photography (portrait and travel) merging beautifully
Very enjoyable mix of subjects, great photos.
NYC is so fun, awesome shots
Some excellent shots, some informal, some candid, some with takes on NYC icons. And I love the series about the snow, the mountains and the forest: you have much better landscapes (and snowfalls) than we do here in the UK! Our highest “peak”? 4400 feet above sea level. Glad you like “In search of unusual destinations”, by the way. Phil.
I really, really like your style – your photographs are a true pleasure to look at.
And thanks for the follow!

The dark silhouette and the last photo are my favourites. Good job!
i love your new york pictures, you really capture the essence!
Really love this city shots, black and white, with the snow drifting down was amazing. They all are ^^
Huge fan of B&W, two favorites are silhouette with giant feet, and city nymph in the street. Unrelated to this post. Have you ever been High River, Alberta? It’s on my list of places to visit, one because it looks beautiful, and one of my t.v. shows Heartland is filmed there.
PATRICK! wow.
Hej from Sweden !
Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking my recent post. I just love your photos of NTC Just beautiful!
Welcome back anytime.
Late but never too late, Happy New Year!
I love NYC…I have a few shots that I may need to post on my blog of the Highline Park!
I really really enjoy your photographs. They are sooooo beautiful!
Impressive shots.

Cheers!
I love the bridge – fabulous. And the ‘motion’ of the people in the train station. You are awesome.
