Canmore Snow Storm
I LOVE making photographs in bad weather. These were all taken along the many pathways around the small town of Canmore in the Canadian Rockies. The 4th photo reminded me of a cupped hand reflected in the water.

Beautiful!

the reflection in the 4th is unbelievable !
Very nice shots, as usual.
I love that penultimate photo, it looks like fingers reaching over, dipping in.
I can’t seem to get enough of snow photos, and these are some of the loveliest and most evocative I’ve seen this season. The “hand” is especially memorable.
Beautiful Pictures.
that bicycle bridge looks so cool in the snow
So beautiful…
In the fourth picture it looks like a huge hand is cupped over the water on the left.
Fabulous black and whites!!
Beautiful…. I love the winter white!!!!
The third one is amazinggggggggggg!
No. 3 makes me feel like I’m strolling into Narnia. Stunning shots.
I really love the third and fourth photographs they are absolutely beautiful.
apparently John Ruskin said…i thought of your photos ~ “Summer is delicious. Rain is refreshing, wind braces up, snow is exhilarating; there is no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.”…lovely captures.
Beautiful! May I use these as samples of B&W pics for a unit on use of color in my Web Page Design courses? Giving you credit, of course, and not modifying or transforming in any way. These are wonderful!
So lovely…..but bitter cold.
Just beautiful, thanks.
Wow! These are breathtakingly gorgeous! Thank you for sharing them.

Patrick Latter’ photos have never disappointed; these certainly are not an exception to that rule. How I envy him his opportunities, virtually on his doorstep…
Love the a-frame home nestled in the thick. Great photos as always!
Love all of them thanks for sharing
Black and white was the perfect choice! Beautiful.
Beautiful pics! Perfect postcard pics!!!
So beautiful…
Beautiful! I love black and white photography!
You are so very talented! … and I absolutely LOVE photo #2 ❤
These are stunning!
Patrick, thanks again for the splendid photography. You bring happiness to my life.
Lovely in black and white. Really beautiful !
I think you’ve really captured the mood of a snowstorm too. It felt like I was there with the snow falling around me. Thank you!
For sure! I echo this one…
The third one is my favorite! It’s so mystical! And yes, very Narnian!
It seems like Mr. Tumnus should come into sight at any moment.
great photos – all of them – but i DO love that hand
love the #4 picture…
Oh, so lovely. Thank you. I miss winter. We don’t get much in the Southwest. -Renee
You have amazing talent. Seeing the photos in your posts always lift my spirit even when I am already happy!
The cupped hand is stunning … I also want to cross country ski or snowshoe down that path in #3
Great shots……my wife now wants to move to Canada because you get proper snow.
I love these photographs! Sometimes black and white is the perfect medium.
These are beautiful – make me feel better about bad weather!
Great photos!!!!:-)
These are stunning. I particularly like the one of the lake. Why do you so like making photographs in bad weather? You like being cold? Or just the challenge…?
Your photos (almost) make me wish I lived somewhere really cold! Lovely images.

Fantastic photo’s. The third photo is beautiful, looks like a scene in a movie and the 4th photo is truly a piece of art. Well done!
Maria
You capture the beauty of winter like no photographer I’ve ever seen. Thank you for sharing.
Stunning! But I just can’t wait for spring.
dude, these are amazing. snow looks really beautiful in black & white.
just pinned it! impressive. what a world of snow
Simply magical, thanks, I needed that today.
Gorgeous! Love the b&w. Snow is such a magical thing. Especially to someone, like me, who lives in South Florida. I feel like I’m right there in the snowstorm– but warmer.
Beautiful images, makes me want to walk right into those scenes. I love the geometry of that house in the last shot.
Absolutely breathtaking pictures!
Love these photos! Especially the 3rd and 4th ones.
I live in the ‘great white north’ and I’m not a big winter person…but the snow does make pretty photos and I try to see the beauty and hope that gets me through to spring!
I love the monochromatic look of the world when winter weather gets a bit ugly. What is it? For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction? LOL. Beautiful photos again, Patrick! Thank you for the day brightener!
These are all so beautiful. Thank you for sharing them!
Lovely as usual, especially in greyscale!
They all look amazingly beautiful! The fourth one is definitely my favorite!
The third one is beautiful! I’m buying it for my collection.
The fourth one is the one I meant. Your “cupped hand”.
Went to purchase and it wasn’t among the choices. ???
I will add it right now

Beautiful set. You can almost hear the snow falling quietly.
bad weather with breathtaking landscape! my fingers go numb everytime i have hold a camera and press the button in winter time.
I love the reflection! It looks like a hand reaching down into the water. What is that building? I want to stay there
Great photos. Snowstorms can be beautiful if the snowfall is not too dense.
The 2nd to last pic looks like a giant hand over the water
The 4th photo is indeed beautiful and special
All excellent photos!
That house looks as if it were built as a prop for the photo. Wonderful work.
The reflections are beautiful! Wonder what coming up under all that snow, if and when it melts! Personally, I’m ready for Spring and lots of GREEN! Will say, the snow scenes make me feel serene…
Amazing pictures! I find so much beauty in snow. Just a pity I have never seen it in real life. I see through your pictures. The 4th one does look like a hand – how often do you see that?
Hello Patrick! As always, amazing photos! I so enjoy your work and seeing your outdoor adventures with your friends. Always interesting and fun! Thanks so much.
I love that you did this series in black and white.
Wow – I love winter, I love snow, and I love a good winter snowstorm. Thanks for the fabulous shots!
These photos are so beautiful. I keep returning to this post to look at them again.
Wow.
Great photos Patrick. The 3rd one is magical. The others are great but this one puts me there. I can hear the squelching of snow under my boots & see my breath as I walk along that path. That’s the benchmark of a fabulous photo – when you become part of the photo. Breathtaking…
Beautiful!
Amazing pictures as always!
I so love the views you find and share… They are peaceful, inviting and cause this stir to explore.

Beautiful photos. Both times I’ve visited the Banff area, I’ve stayed in Canmore. Love that town.
Gorgeous.
There is nothing like being the first to walk through newly fallen snow…
beautiful

Beautiful shots. I’ve visited Canada year after year with my family and we almost always go in the winter. I always start off by complaining a little, finding it silly to head north when it’s already cold around me, but once I enter Canada and take a look around, suddenly it’s not so bitter or bracing to trudge through the snow.
Beautiful
I love the dark, mysterious forest in the third photograph — ALL your photos make me love winter again!!!
These are beautiful photos. I love pictures of snow!
Great shots! They are stunning!
OK! Great shots. Not been to Canada since May last year and recovering from broken ankle and broken vertebrae so I suspect these shots are the closest I am going to get to Canadian snow for quite a while. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely breathtaking!! The snow is so beutiful!
Beautiful!
Like, I have never seen snow, and the above is like a dream world, a story from a book, but its all real, and you were there… Still waters run cold, and beautiful, top work, Patrick!
Hi I love these images. Snow is something which I miss intensely, especially from my youth and indeed living where I live now. These images remind me somewhat of hiking in the Peak District (Derbyshire U.K.) in the winter. I have never been to Canada but these images really entice me into going. I especially like the second image in the series.
Gorgeous. I adore black and white photographs. Perfect for wintery scenes!
if you wand give as a map of place how you take the fotos , great job

I’ve been to Banff once a couple of years ago and drove through Canmore to get there. You are lucky to have such beautiful scenery to work with. Your images are great! What kind of lens did you use for these shots?
These are gorgeous! I love taking “snowy” pictures too; snow makes everything look so magical.
