This was just one of FOUR grizzly’s that were together. A mom and 3 older cubs that were alongside the Trans-Canada Highway a few weeks ago.
handsome creature and great photo
What a great shot – very impressive. Just glad I’m not really that close to one of these enormous creatures.
She is so beautiful, Patrick – awesome shot! We saw a family of black bears in Pennsylvania last year but I didn’t have enough time to get the camera as I was driving
That is a wonderful photo.
Great shot…were you on foot ? Amazing animals would love to see one in the wild.
Yikes I hope you took this from a good distance!
Great moment with the look and dandelions in her mouth.
totally agree. Love the flowers… Yum! right? =)
wow! great shot!!
Wow! What a beautiful and overwhelmingly large creature. I am in awe of the rich color and texture in the fur and the expressive eyes.
Dude, how did you get that close?! Even for 300mm it’s just not far enough. She looks so harmless with the flower, though 😉
Sorry I forgot to include that I also used a 2x Extender, making it 600mm.
Ah, well anyway, it’s a rare moment, great picture!
Absolutely fantastic image.
What a superb photograph!
Wow! So beautiful!
Amazing, really – thanks for sharing!

Very impressive shot Patrick! Wise decision to extend. Viva the long guns
What a magnificent creature with no scars or blemishes from fights or hunger…
My goodness the image is so vivid it could somehow ironically be a painting instead ! And how lucky were you to have been able to take this shot near a mother and her cubs? I heard those mama bears are poisonous when people get near their children.

Fantastic! Would love to see some images of the cubs.
How privileged you are to get so close to these wonderful creatures! How close were you?
Amazing! That photo is a real winner.
WOW! That is one amazing photo!
The look on her face I why I don’t hunt bears or any other animal for that matter. So full of life. Great shot. Thanks!!!
fabulous shot…looks so calm, but can be fierce!
I need that camera! Great shot!!
What a majestic creature & fab pic!
Great close-up of the features of this bear and the features are similar to that of a fox too. I love bears and often wonder how they survive being the size they are but they do if left alone. Love this one.
This photo is amazing. What a priceless moment and the colors are so vibrant and natural.
he’s soooo cute!! xo
what an amazing shot of such a majestic animal!
Stunning photo! Very unique view of a Grizzly. Thank you for sharing, very beautiful animal.

Just beautiful, a new appreciation for this gorgeous animal.
What a spectacular shot!
Were you nervous when you saw the mom and her cubs?
Wow, that’s an up close shot and he seems to be well-fed, so maybe he’s not dangerous.
Seriously, I love this picture like it’s made out of oxygen.
Wow, great close-up! Capturing pics of wildlife along the Trans-Canada is no easy feat ❤
Wonderful photograph. Thanks for sharing!

Everybody else has said, it. But, WoW!!wow, wowwww! ! Beautiful animal. Beautiful photo.

Love the flowers hanging out of his mouth! What a shot!!

Way to wait for the moment Patrick! Or was this one of 2000? LOL
A shot worth waiting for – with a camera of course – and a great result.

Great shot. We visited Banff a few years ago, and it remains one of the best vacations. We sighted several bears, although didn’t get such a good shot. Thank you for following my blog. -sri
