The best camping on the Indian arm is at Granite Falls, it's 18km and between 3-6 hours one way. It's a beautiful paddle that ends at a large waterfall.
We had limited time so we only did the first 9km portion of the Juan de Fuca trail to Bear Beach and back again.
This was our first time up there and while it was beautiful, it was very sad to see how much garbage had been left by people on the trail and lakeside. If you do decide to take the trip up there, please pack out all of your garbage.
Wedgemount Lake is a difficult hike that leads to an incredibly beautiful alpine lake, with many tent pads for camping.
Elfin Lakes trail is an incredibly beautiful moderate hike that includes the option of staying overnight in a heated hut.
Black Mountain snowshoe trail has great views of the city and is close to Vancouver.
