Such a startling change from your Rocky Mountain photos! But I shouldn’t be surprised to see that your tropical shots are just as stunning.

Those pictures are gorgeous, the location too.
Funny thought though, there is another place called Hana, in Norway, where you would find an amazing light and big sky, but not any jungle! The thing is, knowing the word for something isn’t always enough! Goes for almost everything! Loved your photos though! solveig

We’ve never driven all the way around. We were told the northern route was easier, thoroughly paved. After driving it from west to east, we were thoroughly traumatized to even attempt the Road to Hana. You are braver than we were. We did see some of the island by helicopter, which was wonderful. 🙂

Your photograph makes it even more beautiful and lusher than it really is. Stirred cherished memory, except perhaps for the motion sickness that one can harly avoid with the many twists and turns.
There is a beatiful Michael Ondaatje’s poem called, I believe, “On the Road to Hana”, It can be found in his collection called “The Cinnamon Peeler’s Wife”. Tried to find it on the web but couldn’t. It evokes perfectly the feeling of the road.

Just the title made me feel sick from having driven that road as a child. It is breathtaking. I love your work. It makes me smile. Well done.

How many bridges are there? 50 or something like that. I just remember being so sick. My sister lost her bikini top that day too. Prairie girls don’t know to much about that undertow. Sorry just had to add that in! Really do love your imagery.

What a beautiful photo. We were just in Hawaii and weren’t able to go too far down the road to Hana this time around due to time constraints / it was getting dark. Hopefully next time I can make it to this lovely spot.
