Calgary Stampede

I took this a few years ago at the Calgary Stampede. You’ll need a tripod but long exposures of rides at night are a blast. To still get some texture/colour in the sky, I took this at dusk.

Well done on a fantastic picture. The innumerable lines of light remind me somewhat of the filaments that erupt from the Sun =)

Patrick – except for personal pictures, this is my favorite photo I’ve ever seen – ever! I’ve always been more drawn to photography than other forms of art, and this one really speaks to me. Wonderful!

My goodness that’s beautiful. I love playing with my tripod to get shots like this. Of course I haven’t been able to create large mushrooms of light like you have here.

I love fairs, there is something very magical about them! So many fond childhood memories took place at various fairs and midways in small towns. Your great shot brings back those memories!

What a shot – it really captures the energy: the one to the front looks like it’s going to spin right off!

Beautiful, exciting photo. You are right about the dusk behind these forms in that it adds one more beautiful color to the mixture.
