Trailhead Directions

Located on the west coast of southern Vancouver Island, Juan de Fuca Provincial Park extends from China Beach, just west of the community of Jordan River, to Botanical Beach near Port Renfrew. The park is accessed by vehicle at various points along West Coast Highway 14 between Jordan River and Port Renfrew. The China Beach campground is adjacent to Highway 14 just east of the China Beach day-use, 35 km west of Sooke and 36 km east of Port Renfrew. Nearby communities include: Port Renfrew, Sooke, Victoria, Duncan.

The trail has a number of bridges and walkways in varying condition.

Just 2km into the trail is Mystic beach, this is one of the busier campgrounds, due to it’s easy access.

Someone had setup up a huge rope swing at the far end of the beach!

We arrived at Bear Beach just after noon and setup camp just off the beach.

There are bear lockers for your food to prevent any animals getting at it while you sleep.

For the rest of the day we explored the surrounding beach.

From across the water you can see Olympic National Park in the USA.

On the drive back we stopped at Shirley Delicious for lunch. Super fun staff and great food!
